The Pennsylvania governor went on FOX’s Philadelphia station, saying it was a “joke” that the football game had been scrubbed, saying that football fans were smart enough to make their own decisions about getting safely to the stadium–and, he believes, for braving a few inches of snow:
“I was looking forward to this. It would have been a real experience. This is what football is all about. We’re becoming a nation of wussies.”
When Fox 29’s weatherman John Bolaris tried to correct Rendell’s snow totals, things got testy, with the two men debating who said how many inches when–and then Rendell declaring the storm was “in no way, shape or form” a blizzard.
