Sen. Tuberville Gives Embattled Trump an ‘A+’ in First 100 Days: ‘He’s Trying To Save the Economy’

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) offered a glowing assessment of the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term, giving them an “A+.”

Trump sent markets reeling earlier this month when he imposed sweeping tariffs on virtually all imports. He singled out Chinese products for especially high tariffs, raising the figure to 145%. However, he walked this back recently and stated that “it won’t be that high.” Despite this, Trump is maintaining a relatively strict tariff regime that will likely usher in noticeably higher prices on all manner of products. In some cases, goods may become unavailable altogether. Ports on the U.S. West Coast are seeing substantial drops in shipments.

Tuberville joined Monday’s edition of Kudlow on Fox Business, where Larry Kudlow denounced a spate of polls showing that Trump’s approval rating is underwater.

“The liberal polls, they’re all fake polls,” he said, declining to note that a Fox News poll also shows the president’s approval rating underwater. “The nightly news broadcasts are awful. They’re all beating up on Trump. How do you rank his first hundred days, Senator Tuberville? Nice, easy question. Hundred days. What do you think?”

“A+,” the senator replied without hesitation. “What else can he do, Larry? They left it in a total mess. I was up here for four years of Joe Biden. They did not do one thing for the American people or for this country. They actually tried to destroy it, and everything went down. Now, President Trump has got foreign wars, he’s got deportations, the border, tax cuts. He’s trying to save the economy. What a total disaster the Democrats created.”
