Trump Continues Calls for Wall as Shutdown Continues: We Need ‘A Wall, a Fence, Whatever They’d Like to Call It’
President Donald Trump took questions from reporters on Christmas today, and he was of course asked about the continuing government shutdown.
The shutdown has mostly been over the President’s demand for a wall and, when asked about it today, he said, “I can’t tell you when the government is going to be open. I can tell you it’s not going to be open until we have a wall, a fence, whatever they’d like to call it. I’ll call it whatever they want. But it’s all the same thing. It’s a barrier from people pouring into our… country from drugs.”
He stood by his insistence on a wall, repeating what he’s been tweeting over the past few days.
The most important way to stop gangs, drugs, human trafficking and massive crime is at our Southern Border. We need Border Security, and as EVERYONE knows, you can’t have Border Security without a Wall. The Drones & Technology are just bells and whistles. Safety for America!

He even claimed that he’s spoken to federal workers who “want the wall.”
