Passing Van Driver Calls Scottish Tory Leader A ‘F**king W**ker’ During Live Interview
Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross had his live Channel 4 News interview rudely interrupted on Wednesday night when a passing white van driver, seeing him as fair game for some fairly vicious banter, blasted his horn and shouted abuse.
Ross was speaking from Edinburgh to journalist Cathy Newman, who was in the broadcaster’s London studio. The pair were discussing the day’s Covid Inquiry hearings where former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was cross-examined.
“Is she a better pandemic leader than [former Prime Minister] Boris Johnson?” the host asked.
“Well, as I was saying earlier, we now know that the Scottish Government were looking at political gain during the pandemic,” Ross began, taking the chance to attack his political rival. “They said some of the decisions were taken for purely political reasons.”
Suddenly, Ross was interrupted by the blaring of a vehicle’s horn and man’s voice shouting: “Hey Dougie, you fucking wanker!”
The party leader maintained his composure and continued his argument, ripping Sturgeon’s pro-independence Scottish National Party for its “obsession with separation.”
Newman, however, cut to apologise for the “bad language” — clarifying that it was not Ross who’d cursed.
“Apologies to anyone who was offended,” the host reiterated.
