Hannity Says Op-Ed Writer Should Be Investigated: Maybe Trump Should Copy Obama and Target Leakers
On Friday night, Sean Hannity tackled the controversial New York Times op-ed that was written by an anonymous senior official in the Trump administration.
Hannity began by blasting the “cowardly bureaucrat” who claims to be part of the “so-called Resistance” within the government.
“Wow, we have sleeper cells within our government?” Hannity reacted.”This is a clear and present danger in our country.”
He then played a clip of President Donald Trump‘s response on Fox & Friends, invoking “treason” and that the New York Times should never have published it.
“That is beyond unacceptable. It’s like a soft coup aided and abetted by the corrupt media in this country,” Hannity told his viewers.
The Fox News host asked if this anonymous Trump official has top secret security clearances and if the person has access to the president talking about “war and peace.”
Hannity then pulled the following excerpt from the op-ed:
“We will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction – one way or another – it’s over.”
“‘One way or another?’ What is ‘one way or another?’ Voted out? Impeached? Die in office? Is that a veiled threat? Where’s the Secret Service?” Hannity asked. “Either way, given this person, alleged proximity to the president, it should be investigated and treated as matter of national security. Now, perhaps the president should use the Obama model and track down the anonymous saboteur.”
Hannity invoked how the Obama administration set a precedent in cracking down on leakers and how they targeted members of the press including former Fox News reporter James Rosen.
