Media Twitter Bashes Fox News Over Tapper’s ‘Allahu Akbar’ Comment: ‘Apologize…For This Bullsh*t’

Fox News is under fire for a segment on The Five, and a subsequent post to their website and Tweet in which they seemed to grossly misrepresent the words of CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“The Arabic chant, Allahu Akbar––God is great––sometimes said under the most beautiful of circumstances, and too often we hear it being said in moments like this,” Tapper said Tuesday on The Lead following the attack in Manhattan.
The (now-deleted) Tweet from Fox News summarizing Tapper’s remark?
“@CNN ‘s Jake Tapper Says ‘Allahu Akbar’ Is ‘Beautiful’ Right After NYC Terror Attack”
Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz — whose comments on The Five Wednesday were the basis of the Fox News website post and Tweet — apologized for not giving Tapper a “fair shake.” And Fox News deleted its Tweet.
Nonetheless, journalists on Twitter were furious. Here’s a sampling of the reaction.

It’s looks like Fox is being disgusting, twisting someone’s words to create a lie. Fox is not a legitimate news organization. https://t.co/XX2zDm1Wnf

I stand with Jake. He is exactly right. In my random sample of people in TX: 98% trust Jake, 1% trust Fox News, 1% said go astros!
