At 12:30 p.m. ET, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney will hold a press briefing that will likely address the growing outrage over the Justice Department’s secret seizure of Associated Press private phone records, in addition to the brewing controversies involving the IRS targeting of tea party groups and the State Department’s revision of post-Benghazi talking points.
If he takes questions, Carney will likely face tough grilling on all three issues, especially given the recent news that Attorney General Eric Holder has recused himself from investigations of the agency’s seizure of the AP’s phone records.
