FAWLTY_REMASTER_US_3DcymkUS_Blackadder_3d_cmykIn honor of two icons of British comedy — John Cleese (Monthy Python) and Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) — the BBC is releasing two completely remastered DVD box sets of their classic shows Fawlty Towers and Blackadder and to celebrate Mediaite is giving away free copies of each!

All you have to do to win is write a comment below explaining why you deserve a totally free box set. If you’re a super fan, feel free to indicate your preference between the two shows, but remember, you have to convince us you’re the one. The winner will be selected by the Mediaite staff on Friday, October 30.

Good luck!

I’m in Europe AND I read Mediaite three times a day.

Fawlty Towers is my all-time favorite show, and Mediaite is my all-time favorite blog.

I was too busy working my butt off to watch Fawlty Towers during it’s original run. I would love to spend some quality time with Cleese and friends this winter.

British television, especially the comedy, tops American TV front to back. Cleese and Atkinson embody the silly profundity of British humor. Gold from lead. An alchemist’s feast.

Because I learned my English from a book and I’m always on guard in case the Germans are coming.

I deserve the Black Adder set because I’m tired of sitting here pretending to watch all the Black Adder episodes while actually watching Glenn Beck. Another reason I deserve the Black Adder Set is that my therapist put my on State Disability (SDI) and I have nothing to do all day except go crazy reading Mediaite and making weird comments (true!). The last reason I deserve the Black Adder set is that the Samuel Johnson “Dictionary of the English Language” episode was the funniest TV show ever penned by man and watching it will eliminate the need to take my medication.
