LifeZette Trends on Twitter As Politicos Express Shock Over Presser Question
Have you heard of LifeZette? After today, you might be a little more familiar with the site, which is the brainchild of Laura Ingraham and has a reputation for losing employees. LifeZette regularly posts misleading headlines and straight-up fake news. The site has pushed the “Clinton body count” conspiracy theory, for instance.
Beyond all of that, LifeZette also had the distinct honor of being the first outlet selected by Sean Spicer to ask a question at today’s White House press briefing, which was only the second under this administration. (Yesterday, the first question went to the New York Post, which was a massive break with tradition.)
The shock over the first question going to a small site that is so known for promoting conspiracies reverberated through the political world and ended up — where else? — on Twitter, where LifeZette started trending.
First question of today’s White House briefing goes to a reporter with Laura Ingraham’s news site, LifeZette.
