Representative Steve Stockman (R-TX) returned from a whirlwind overseas tour and told a press corps wondering where he was that he had given daily press conferences that he claimed had been ignored.
Stockman has missed multiple roll call votes since January 9, and has been absent from the campaign trail despite badly trailing opponent John Cornyn (R-TX) in an upcoming primary.
An article posted on his website stated, “Stockman also used the official trip to expose the partisan bias of the American media, who claimed they did not know where he was.” Actually, even House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) didn’t know where he was, and neither Stockman’s congressional office nor his campaign staff returned multiple requests for an explanation, a fact journalists quickly pointed out to him:
