Now Tim Pawlenty Has Gotten Glittered Too

Uh oh. Now Tim Pawlenty is getting the Newt Gingrich treatment. No, his campaign staff didn’t leave. No, his phone didn’t accidentally show off his questionable music choice. And, no, his campaign materials weren’t mocked by the Trinity Killer. (Man, Gingrich has had a really tough month) What did happen is that, like Gingrich, Pawlenty found himself covered in glitter thanks to some gay rights activists.

Well, maybe glitter isn’t the right word. It looks more like pink confetti from the looks of the video now making the rounds. And, unlike Gingrich’s sparkling attacker, Pawlenty wasn’t the victim of a loan-glitterer. The protesters appear to be involved with Code Pink which would explain the switch to confetti (better to show off the eponymous color).

The incident occurred at a convention for America’s Health Insurance Plans. The woman who snazzed up the presidential candidate can be heard asking, “”Where’s your courage to stand on gay rights and women’s reproductive rights?” The description for the video, uploaded by Code Pink, reads as follows:

“If elected, GOP Presidential candidate said he would reinstate Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (the ban on openly-gay service). He vetoed a bill in MN that would have allowed surving partners of same-sex couples the right to decide what to do with their loved one’s deceased body, because he believes in ‘traditional marriage’.”

This should be done to all “family values” B.S. right-wing, hypocritical creep Republicans. It makes for entertaining video!

So, you’re saying this wasn’t a financial protest?

    It’s just glitter people.

Does this mean Pawlenty can now fly?

I love when people assault politicians to make their points!

It always works well for them.

    Idiots.

All this does is devolve an important human and equal rights issue into an immature prank.

    :sigh:

Anyone who supports gay marriage should find these acts despicable. Way to stereotype gay people with glitter and confetti. Way to add to the stereotype of gay couples as well.

Reminds me of the nut job environmentalists that hurt the environmental cause as well. Being rude and annoying doesn’t send a good message about anything….

What a “Wus” Pawlenty is. He coins the phrase “Obamneycare”, and then backs down from it when standing the presence of the “Almighty” Mitt. Then, when he is safely out of harm’s way, he says he should have lowered the boom on Romney. He acts like the “Cowardly Lion”.

The only bright spot in an otherwise listless campaign.

Yes, and can now pick out a good color scheme for his den.

    CAIN,

Are you familiar with the word “bescumbered”? It means to have feces and organic waste thrown at and on you. It used to be a punishment for relatively minor crimes, in Europe, for centuries.

What is my point, you ask? Just something for you to think about, thats all…
