Oscars Red Carpet 2010! Styleite Ranks The Hits, The Misses, And Everything In Between

And Everything In Between:

Kristen Stewart’s Monique Lhuillier navy strapless silk dress may have been a yawn, but we must applaud her for not looking like a 17-year-old angst ridden teenager.  The fact that Stewart lacked her usual overused eyeliner and wore something that was not torn and tattered earns her a place in our “in between” category. Lhuillier’s dress fit her beautifully and the color choice was a refreshing (if small) change from the teen-sensation’s usual black uniform.

Rachel McAdams looked perfectly pretty in a softly floral Elie Saab dress made up of muted blues and complimentary pastels. The fit was perfect, the silhouette stunning, and McAdams has hereby been inducted into Styleite’s inaugural “Dresses We’d Definitely Wear” hall of fame.

Anna Kendrick’s Elie Saab gown was appropriate and her shoes were wonderful.  The lace detailing and delicate upper bodice made the dress lovely, but, well, just lovely.  The color washed her out and, considering her Golden Globe’s Marchesa dress, we all know Kendrick has it in her to do something a bit more interesting.

Where is Sarah Jessica Parker? Love her or hate her she is always daring in her choices. I think she was one of the best dressed in her Chanel Couture.

I was just about the write the same thing: Where was SJP? That dress was by far the most interesting thing on the red carpet, and she pulled it off beautifully. Wasn’t crazy about the bottom but oh did I love that top. And how can you hurt on Kendrick at all – she looked lovely and classic – and the way that SHOE blended perfectly with it all above was perfection. Was not crazy about Farmiga – hard to TELL that the dress fit her like a glove! – and agree agree agree on Seyfried re: “Bridal Gone Bad.” I think you’re giving Kristen Stewart a little too much credit for not wearing black here (that’s not black???), love love love MacAdams, and you are definitely missing Sandra Bullock. And also Gabby Sidibe, who looked sensational (Mo’Nique did too, actually, in that fabulous blue with the flower). And Kathryn Bigelow and Kate Winslet both chose sophisticated, classy gowns that still made them both look smokin’. p.s. Miley’s gown would have looked lovely on an actress in her 30s. Who was standing up straight.

Also, I would just like to note that Melanie Laurent, the star of Inglourious Basterds, has been pretty much ignored on the red carpet this awards season and I find it perplexing. Well not that perplexing because she has opted to blend in with the Basterds team rather than break out, but her fashion choices have been solid, and I’m just surprised that I cna’t even recall SEEING her last night.

Also, no-show for Brangelina? For shame.

    That’s all from me.
