Rahm Emanuel Announces He’s ‘Preparing’ To Run For Mayor (VIDEO)

And just like that Chief of Staff Rahm becomes candidate for Mayor of Chicago Rahm. Rahm Emanuel posted his first campaign video this afternoon announcing that he is launching a “Tell It Like It Is” neighborhood tour.

In the announcement he doesn’t technically say he is running for mayor, just that he is “preparing to run for mayor.” Also, among other things, Chicago can no longer have “gangbangers taking the lives of our schoolchildren.”

Chicago’s a world-class city today because of Mayor Daley’s leadership. He deserves our appreciation.

But we’re facing tremendous challenges – from attracting jobs to improving our schools to making ALL our neighborhoods safer.

To be the city we want to be, we can’t have gangbangers taking the lives of our schoolchildren.

And to be the city we want to be, we can no longer accept business-as-usual. In attacking our budget deficit, there must be no sacred cows. We should be guided only by the need to protect our neighbors and ensure taxpayer dollars aren’t wasted.

We need leadership that’s tough enough to say no when it needs to be said, and smart enough to know what government should do — and also what it can’t do.

Watch below. If you live in Chicago you can start telling Rahm how it is “in blunt, Chicago terms” starting tomorrow.

Commonly called the Chicago machine, it was directed by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley for many years and became legend for its ruthless and corrupt political operations. Since then, his son has become the Mayor of Chicago and assumed the reins of this nefarious machine. It has been so corrupt that the National Democratic Party placed orders for the number of vote plurality it wanted the machine to deliver on Election Day, and the Daley/Chicago machine always succeeded

Rahm doesn’t meet the residency requirements. He leased out his home and, therefore, he hasn’t lived in Chicago for quite some time. We’ll see how the liberals ignore the law and figure a way around it.

Did he steal that speech from Obama, sounds a lot like the one Obama spewed out when HE was running for election “We want safe streets, safe schools, etc blah, blah” we all believed it then so what is happening now? I hope he doesn’t walk around Chicago streets the way he follows Obama around….like a little puppy. Have you ever seen him walk…no John Wayne..& you can use one in Chicago. Those tough kids see him walk like that & they’ll have a field day with him. Please…Rahm, take some acting lessons, your legs have to be apart, not squeezed together like a girl, tsk tsk..you’re the man…yep…you’re the man!
