Ringo Starr Gives Preview Of Jimmy Fallon Takeover Tonight
Today we attended a press conference and preview performance for Ringo Starr‘s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight. The former Beatle will be the only guest (and of course, musical guest) on the show, and he, Jimmy Fallon and Ben Harper (playing along with Starr’s band) spoke to members of the press today.
Here’s a look at what went down.
Tonight Starr will be interviewed by Fallon and will perform four songs, three of which he previewed today. They included “Walk With You,” the first single off the upcoming album, Y Not, “The Other Side Of Liverpool” (video below) and “I Want To Be Your Man.”
Harper, performing with Starr during his promotional tour, called it “one of the greatest musical experiences of my life.” He also wondered whether he or Fallon had bigger “shit-eating grins” while Starr went through soundcheck.
There was a brief Q&A session as well. One of the big takeaways – said Starr: “My ‘Rock Band’ skills are crap.”
And yes, this is an NBC late night TV story that does not have to do Conan O’Brien or Jay Leno at all.
