Rush Limbaugh: Rep. Barney Frank “Spends Most Of His Time Living Around Uranus”

AUDIO

You know that whole Rep. Barney Frank/angry town hall questioner situation from last night?

Rush Limbaugh, of course, weighed in today. And guess what – he thinks the Obama/Hitler comparisons are just “fantastic” and of course, makes an offensive gay joke about Frank.

“It’s fabulous and fantastic and hilarious that a woman shows up at a Barney Frank town hall meeting with an Obama as Hitler poster and the Nazi stuff in his district,” says Limbaugh, chortling to himself.

Then, in reference to Frank’s line, “On what planet do you spend most of your time?” Limbaugh had this to say:

Isn’t it an established fact that Barney Frank himself spends most of his time living around Uranus?

You get it? Oh what a comedian this guy is. “This is all so much fun to watch, and it’s all so much fun to analyze,” said Limbaugh. The ‘former leader’ of the Republican party, ladies and gentlemen! (via NewsPolitics):

• Also, here’s Steve Doocy on Fox & Friends this morning finding Frank “rude” but seemingly having no problem with the whole ‘Obama/Hitler’ thing.

Anyone with an Obama/Hitler sign just copied it from the thousands of Bush/Hitler signs we were treated to for 8 years. It’s strange no one in the media took issue with it then.

I can’t stand Barney Frank, but Rush is that cigar “just a cigar?”

The whole Obama/Hitler thing is just a continuation of the whole Bush/Hitler thing — just different actors from different segments. Funny how the media kind of didn’t ever comment on the whole Bush/Hitler thing, nor did they seem to care about all those posters at rallies that said: “Death to Bush”! I recall a certain CNN reporter (whose contract wasn’t renewed recently, cough Susan Rosegen cough) who actually claimed on the air that the person who was dressed up as Bush/Hitler was a “pretty good look-alike”. No problems then.

Now the Obama Joker poster has been taken off the web, but the Bush Joker posters are still up to be found.

When the media starts addressing these situations with the same focus — bad for all, not just bad for one — I’ll care. Until then, no big deal to me.

As for Rush — hey, Rush is Rush, always has been, always will be. Just more free publicity for him. And besides, any representative who claims “talking to a constituent is like talking to a dining room table” opens himself up for ridicule.

Paul Begala called Palin a “half whack job” on CNN the other night – where is the post about that?

@TfT, Of course you are right, but have you noticed how many anit-Hitler/Obama blogs have been posted on Mediaite today without any reference to what you said in your comment? Double standards are still running rampant in the Blogosphere. Mediaite is beginning to look like Huffpo and the AC360 blog.

Does anyone even listen to Obama lap dog Paul Begala anymore? I am no fan of Palin’s, but it takes one to know one Paulie!

Libra: Barney made an offensive joke about a constituent and Rush was only standing up for her by making an “offensive joke” about Barney. :-) Tit for tat, perfectly understandable.

TfT, CNN has been playing up the Frank sound bite all day long. IMO, Anderson’s “tea bag” comment was just as offensive as Rush’s comment, but I never heard any apology from Anderson or CNN for that one. I will be surprised if Anderson doesn’t talk about this on 360 ad nauseam for the rest of the week, maybe longer.

@TfT, @Chris Jones: glad o see you got your GOP talking points in. The Bush/Hitler v. Obama/Hitler is a non-issue. This is all about race. But, you won’t see that in your GOP talking points tomorrow morning.

And if you’re defending Rush on this point than you are more ignorant than I intially thought.

Sounds like Rush Is so certain about the “facts” concerning Barney Frank that maybe he’s spent time in the proximity of Uranus himself.

    Hey tjl,

    you’re a douche

LOL@tjl. Between the articles posted here, and yours and most others comments, I would say Mediaite is nothing but another arm of the DNC.

Where is the post about MSNBC editing the tapes of the guy carrying the gun in order to push the DNC message about “racists”? There was a time when fellow media folks would actually criticize their colleagues when they so blatantly edited actual truth in order to propagandize for a politician.

Those days seem to be gone I guess. Good thing the public no longer has to rely on the media for facts; but too bad that boards dedicated to calling out/reporting on the media spike that story. Unbelievable

Barney is a boorish, angry little man. He has a custom-carved ‘friends & family’ congressional district in Massachusetts and has been able to shout down the few angry people who have crossed his path. Given the central role Frank has played in the housing/mortgage disaster, I’m fine with what Limbaugh said. Frank is a tough guy and the comment shouldn’t bother him. If Frank wants to throw punches without any coming the other way, he really is limp-wristed.

Chris Jones, ladies and gentlemen! I know you’re lonely, buddy, but if that’s the best you can do… ha! Nice photo, bro. Coool leather jacket, man. What do your talking points tell you this morning? Did they tell you to call me a “douche”? Nice comeback, boss!

I love how when leather clad bros like Chris Jones and Fox News zombies like TfT are confronted for their ignorance all they do is revert to name calling and conspiracy theories. “Media bias!” There is nothing “bias” about this post. Rush is a homophobe, he compares Obama to Hitler, and Chris Jones is lonely…. facts! Smooches!

I wouldn’t think it would be smart for someone who claimed a deferment from fighting in Viet Nam because he had a “pilondial cyst” (a pimple on his ass), to make jokes about that region of the body.

I guess Limbaugh’s listeners are just THAT stupid.

“Paul Begala called Palin a “half whack job” on CNN the other night – where is the post about that?”

Here’s the post. What was Begala thinking? Palin is at minimum three quarters of whack job. Probably closer to full on.

“Where is the post about MSNBC editing the tapes of the guy carrying the gun in order to push the DNC message about “racists”?”

Which gun toting nut? The one in New Hampshire, or the ones in AZ that were connected to the Arizona “Viper Militia” who were busted in the 90’s after stockpiling 500 lbs of ammonium nitrate, and training in the desert with mock ups of federal buildings and speculating where they would have to set explosives to “bring the buildings down”.

Question, would people carrying loaded firearms been allowed to walk around outside a Bush event? Before you answer, consider that people wearing shirts or carrying signs attacking glorious leader were herded into “free speech zones” (read-”cages”). And Obama is Hitler?

John McCain: GOP Has To ‘Give Americans A Reason To Be For Us’

    video

Apparently now that he has defeated dogged opponent J.D. Hayworth in the senate primary it is safe for the old John McCain to raise his head again. McCain popped up on Fox News Sunday this morning and essentially told Chris Wallace that if the GOP intends to make permanent inroads in the midterms this fall it needs to be something other than the party of No.

Tony Blair: People Don’t Understand Radical Islam Is A ‘Generational-Long Struggle’

    video

Just days after President Obama declared Operation Iraqi Freedom officially over, former Prime Minister Tony Blair is jumping into the media fray with his new memoir 'A Journey: My Political Life,' which delves into his controversial decision to bring Britain into the Iraq War. Says Blair: "I think a lot of people don't understand that this is a generational-long struggle."
