This Exists: The Military Explains DADT In World’s Most Boring Comic Ever

Now that we’re preparing to say goodbye to Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (or at least we hopefully are), it’s a good time to look back on this controversial policy. And what better way to do that than by reading a hilarious nine-year-old comic book created by the military to explain the rules of neither asking or telling to our soldiers? Give up? I’m not surprised because there is literally no better way.

The comic book idea makes sense in theory. DADT is an incredibly complicated policy in practice so, instead of sitting all of the nation’s soldiers down for a lecture, the military gives them a comic. A comic about…a bunch of our nation’s soldiers sitting down for a lecture. Ugh. This may be the most boring comic book ever written. I’d tell you the full plot but about halfway through I gave up and started reading a Batwoman comic (did you know she’s a sexy lesbian now?). Still though the comic is pretty fascinating even if it is boring (and has a few panels where the speech bubbles are aligned in a completely confusing fashion). If we’re going to use language, let’s not pervert it’s clear meaning. I’ve never in my life met anyone who had a fear of homosexuals or homosexuality. I’ve met people who think it’s weird, abnormal, even wrong…but never have I met someone who has ever met the definition of “homophobia.” In fact, I doubt there’s any significant number of people to be found on earth (outside of muslim fanatics) that meet the standards of any sort of phobia of gays. It’s a code word that the gay lobby uses to demonize those Americans who disagree with their lifestyles (according to polls, it tends to be the great majority of American citizens.) It’s a lame fear tactic- disagree with my “right” to marry, be openly gay in the military, etc. and you, sir, are a homophobe!

Furthermore- since the topic is DADT, wouldn’t it be left wingers and their homophobia as the policy was created by and instituted by the Clinton administration?
