Trump Legal Team Has Reportedly Provided Documents to Mueller, Hopes to Limit Interview Scope

Attorneys for President Donald Trump have handed over documents to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s off that detail a number of key moments and incidents that the special counsel is investigating, per the Washington Post. According to the Post’s sources, the president’s legal team is hoping to limit the scope of any interview between Trump and Mueller by providing these docs.
Meanwhile, as his lawyers are attempting to keep any potential questions Mueller may ask Trump confined to a specific number of topics to lessen the president’s vulnerability during a lengthy interview, Trump has taken to attacking Mueller on Twitter while telling others he wants to go at it with the special counsel in a sit-down.
From the Post’s article:
The decision to share materials with Mueller’s team is part of an effort by Trump’s lawyers to minimize his exposure to the special counsel, whom the president recently attacked in a series of tweets.
Trump has told aides he is “champing at the bit” to sit for an interview, according to one person. But his lawyers, who are carefully negotiating the terms of a sit-down, recognize the extraordinarily high stakes.
The documents provided to Mueller by Trump’s team include descriptions of White House memos and correspondence related to the terminations of FBI Director James Comey and National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. According to sources, the documents don’t provide Trump’s account of the firing of both men but instead include the overall White House’s view.
This news comes out shortly after the legal team added a new member, Joseph diGenova, who has been pushing the theory that conspirators inside the FBI and DOJ have attempted to falsely frame Trump for crimes.
UPDATE 10:45 PM ET: CNN reported Monday evening that attorneys from Trump’s team and the investigation met last week to discuss the topics investigators could ask the president about.
