WATCH: Did Michael Wolff Bail on Australian TV Chat By Pretending His Earpiece Went Out?

Hello? Is this thing on?

On Sunday morning, Fire and Fury author Michael Wolff appeared — via satellite from London — on the Today show in Melbourne. Anchor Ben Fordham asked Wolff about his comment that he is “absolutely sure” President Donald Trump is currently having an affair during a January interview with Bill Maher. (A claim which he subsequently retracted.)

“You said during a TV interview last month that you are absolutely sure that Donald Trump is currently having an affair, while President, behind the back of the First Lady,” Fordham said to Wolff. “And I repeat, you said you were absolutely sure. Last week, you backflipped and said, ‘I do not know if the President is having an affair.’ Do you owe the President and the First Lady an apology, Mr Wolff?”

Conveniently, Wolff said he could not hear Fordham’s uncomfortable question, and he walked off the set.

Later, Fordham posted audio to Twitter which he claims was a direct feed of what Wolff was hearing in his earpiece.

You’ll note that Wolff said “I can’t hear you” just as Fordham had concluded his question.

“You’re not hearing me, Mr. Wolff?” Fordham asked.

“I’m not getting anything,” Wolff said.

On Monday’s broadcast, Fordham said he was unconvinced by the show put on by Wolff.

“I think he might’ve heard it,” the Australian anchor said slyly.
