We are smack dab in the middle of the holiday season so chances are good that, at some point recently, you or someone you know had a bit too much to drink at a Christmas Party, office holiday party, stressful family dinner, or in the dressing room of your local mall’s Macy’s because, dammit, why won’t this shopping just end?! If so, then you’ll probably get a kick out of the latest edition of Drunk History. For those that don’t know, it’s a web series created by Derek Waters for Funny or Die in which he gets his comedian friends incredibly drunk, has them attempt to retell famous, historical stories, and then gets celebrities to reenact the resulting ramblings (this Ben Franklin story featuring Jack Black will give you an idea). The most recent episode is a special Christmas episode featuring Ryan Gosling, Jim Carrey, Eva Mendes, and a not particularly faithful retelling of “T’was the Night Before Christmas.”

Rick Perry is trying to revive an otherwise moribund campaign by touting his religious credentials– which, against Newt Gingrich (Catholic of questionable marital history) and Mitt Romney (Mormon of otherwise squeaky-clean marital history), may be his last hope. One entity, according to Funny or Die, that is not happy to have been involuntarily dragged into Perry’s anti-gay, hyper-religious politics? Jesus Himself, who kindly requested to be kept out of politics, please.

In the past week or so, Funny or Die has been rolling out a new part of their site, Live Funny or Die, a section dedicated to political humor. While the launch has been quiet so far, featuring only a few videos (including a fun one by friends of Mediaite, The Full Ginsburg), things kicked off in full with an announcement video in which all the 2012 candidates (played by such luminaries as Darrell Hammond and Twitter king Rob Delaney) talk up the new site. And, while it just feels right to see Hammond playing another presidential candidate, that video is completely overshadowed by another one posted today in which Herman Cain is played by…Mike Tyson.

Admittedly, as a rule, I don’t like reality television. That being said, I’m pretty sure that everyone from the staunchest reality hater to the most devoted Amazing Race fan will find something to love in The Vote-Off, a new video from Funny or Die. Aside from the quick “Elimination Island” scene in Run Ronnie Run, this might be the funniest reality show parody ever.

Sex columnist Dan Savage has no intention of letting Rick Santorum get away with being a third-tier Presidential candidate who opposes gay marriage. After a decades long assault on the word “Santorum” (it has now, through Google, been turned into a gay sex euphemism), Savage released a video warning that he has brand new definitions for “Rick” at the ready should the former senator say something offensive enough about the LGBT community.

Charlie Sheen does not plan on going away anytime soon as he reveals in this hilarious Funny or Die video that “my plan is to be the first person to have made an appearance on every television network.” With this anything goes cooking show, Sheen proves he is very willing to make fun of absolutely everything about himself, even joking “this won’t be a kosher meal, not because I’m anti-semitic, but because my Tiger Blood needs meat.”

CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric previously proved she could make fun of herself with an appearance alongside actress Jane Lynch on the television show Glee, yet this time Couric owns all the laughs herself. In a Funny or Die video, Couric goes out in the field to do a report on whether a group of young kids is able to “shake the sillies out” and after she gets a case of the sillies herself, hilarity ensues.

And The Twelve Days of Random, Online Christmas Videos continues unabated with a doozy from the folks over at Funny or Die. In it, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly don wigs, Christmas sweaters, and terrible, terrible British accents to transform themselves into David Bowie and Bing Crosby so they can re-enact the unlikely pair’s performance of “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.”

It’s Justin Bieber‘s world, we’re all just living in it. If you have not accepted that fundamental truth, well then, you don’t understand the Internet or the raw power of pre-tween lust. Funny or Die, however, does understand that power. And they respect it. And, they’re probably gonna get mad pageviews from it. So go [...]

The comedy interview form is easy to replicate, but very difficult to master. Judging by the recent efforts of Zack Galifinakis to interview Ben Stiller on his Funny or Die! produced “Between Two Ferns” bit, Galifinakis has mastered the form. It’s funny. Really funny.
