There is grinchyness afoot: An unmarked truck holding Barack Obama‘s audio equipment, teleprompter, podiums and presidential seal has evidently gone missing from the parking lot of Henrico, Virginia Marriott hotel in advance of the President’s scheduled visit to Chesterfield on Wednesday.

The nighttime news team for Dallas-Ft. Worth’s Fox4 News put together quite an interesting little experiment for their viewers. In order to see how well their audience fared as eye witnesses, the team staged an on-air theft, with a man coming on set and stealing co-anchor Heather Hays‘ purse during the nighttime broadcast. Viewers were then asked to identify the perp in a lineup.

While a WABC news crew attempted to cover a series of stabbings outside a New Jersey hospital, a man smashed their news van window, and reached in to help himself to their pricey electronics. A prince among men, no?

The news crew said they yelled, “Hey!” at the man, who then ran away, loaded down with small electronics, to a Honda Civic parked nearby.
