Saturday Night Live‘s sports special, SNL Presents: Sports All-Stars, airs Sunday at 9pm, and will be hosted by two of the newest recurring SNL sports-related characters: Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink.

The cast members behind Twinkle and Stink, Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte, talked to reporters on a conference call earlier this week about the show.

People scoffed when they heard that Saturday Night Live recurring sketch “MacGruber” starring comedian Will Forte was being turned into a full-length feature film. Something about the ending being spoiled. Well — that’s all in the past, because the trailer’s out and it looks pretty damn awesome.

Sarah Palin wasn’t the only political figure to get satirically served by Saturday Night Live this week. In fact, Barack Obama got his turn first, in the opening sketch depicting a joint press conference between Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao. But did the show consciously sacrifice laughs in order to make a political point?

MacGruber is moving away from poorly defusing ticking bombs in tight spaces to the wide open of New Mexico, in the screen version of the Satuday Night Live recurring sketch.

We talked to MacGruber himself, Will Forte, this week about the film’s plot, cameos, his new hairdo and more.

“Nostalgia,” said Don Draper to the hushed and darkened room. “It’s delicate, but potent…Teddy told me that in Greek, nostalgia literally means the pain from an old wound. It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone.” Then he convinced a roomful of clients that calling it a Carousel might actually reinvent the wheel. Suckers!
