Actor Todd Bridges Apologizes for Saying Robin Williams’ Suicide Was ‘Selfish’

Actor Todd Bridges got some serious online flak for telling TMZ Robin Williams‘ suicide was “selfish.” Bridges ended up apologizing on Twitter, and reiterated his heartfelt apologies on CNN tonight.

Bridges told Don Lemon he wasn’t really talking about Williams, he was just thinking about a friend of his who committed suicide months ago and got angry again about it. What he meant to convey, he says, is that taking your own life means the suffering of everyone around you.

However, Bridges said, “I’m sorry to everybody who took what I said and ran with it to a different direction.” He especially apologized to Williams’ family for his comments.
