Chelsea Handler Announces New Netflix Talk Show
Late night host and comedian Chelsea Handler announced that she had signed a deal with the streaming service Netflix for a new talk show, ending months of speculation of what Handler would do following the end of her show on E!. Handler will also get a standup special and four “docu-comedy” specials.
Netflix, which is quickly expanding its portfolio of original programming, said Handler’s show “will feature an updated format that still encompasses Chelsea’s unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment and cultural issues, as well as her signature guest interviews.”

“If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested,” said Handler, the only woman in a male-dominated late night market. “I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move.”
The show is set to premiere in 2016.
