Ex-Vice President Dick Cheney spoke with Megyn Kelly Monday night about the Bowe Bergdahl situation, and predicted the five released Gitmo detainees will rejoin the Taliban and attempt to attack America, and the U.S. will pay a price for making that deal in the first place.
Cheney said he believes the White House did negotiate with terrorists but doesn’t think “they got a very good deal.” He went after President Obama‘s foreign policy, “retreating from the area,” and Kelly asked if he thinks Obama has “endangered the country.” Cheney said these five men will “go back into the battle” and “we’ll end up paying another kind of price because of the transaction that’s been negotiated here.”
He pointed out that Osama bin Laden‘s goal on 9/11 was to “get the U.S. out of the Middle East,” and that is what’s happening now. And on top of everything else, negotiating the release of an American soldier by releasing five suspected terrorists makes the situation “more difficult.”
