Cable news ratings, August 16, 2010: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:

• CNN’s prime time is slated for a major revamp in the fall – and it will have some major ground to make-up when that happens. On Monday, CNN finished fourth in prime time in the A25-54 demographic, behind FNC, MSNBC and HLN, for the 100th time this year. That amounts to approximately 60% of the year. Rick Sanchez was at 8pm, Larry King at 9pm and Dr. Sanjay Gupta at 10pmET.

Keith Olbermann‘s repeat had more viewers in the A25-54 demographic than Rachel Maddow‘s 9pmET show, both at 8pmET and in his repeat at 10pmET. > Update: Maddow was out Monday night.

Dang, this network must have a deathwish. Why else would it hire Eliot Spitzer? Why else would it go out of its way to avoid learning anything from the success of Fox News? Why else would it continue to cheerlead for an administration that the vast majority of Americans now see as a failed, incompetent exercise in extremist ideology? Why else would it work so assiduously to enforce a stultifying political correctness and obvious bias on every show on every night of the week?

The problems at CNN can certainly be fixed. But the decision makers in charge clearly are in a deep, deep, deep state of denial. So don’t expect fixes any time soon.

CNN needs to hire Blago…he could whip them into shape.

  • TfT

Blago to CNN; another disgraced democrat Governor to the network that claims “straight journalism”.

The funniest thing in all of this is that Klein is still employed there….deep deep denial as to what and who they are.

    Lost and losing more.

Oh well, they did themselves in.

I am surprised Gupta pulled in that many viewers, especially since Monday’s 360 was nothing more than a Muslim lovefest.

Instead of saying “he could whip them into shape,” possibly a better choice of words would have been…”He would fit right in!”
