CNN’s John King will forever be a part of baseball history. The John King, USA anchor was able to gracefully catch masterfully roundhouse kick his rivals in an effort to catch the ball from Red Sox player David Ortiz‘s 300th career home run.

King Tweeted about the catch, crediting his physical prowess and dogged determination:

The ball was returned to Ortiz as a memento, and the athlete showed his appreciation by giving King an autographed hat. Snazzy! Here’s hoping King wears it on air.

Take a look at video from Ortiz’s historic home run, paying special attention to the fans (Nice seats, John!):

good for him, might make for an interesting metaphor for whatever book he may write one day. It’ll also give him something to joke about when interviewing the President or other high profile subject. It would be interesting to see an article on celebrity interactions with sports games, where they were actually involved in a play of some sort, not like when someone stares at a cheer leaders but while at a Lakers game with their wife/girlfriend…

And somewhere in America, John King’s dad was overheard saying “for the first time in my adult life, i’m proud of my homosexual son”
