Feds Arrest Man Plotting Capitol Terrorist Attack

video

Earlier this afternoon, the cable news network channels announced that the FBI had foiled a potential terror attack targeted at the US Capitol. Fox News was the first to break the news. “A 31-year-old man was stopped on his way to Capitol Hill for what he intended to be a suicide mission to blow himself up. Is this happening now in the United States of America?” Fox News’ Megyn Kelly exclaimed.

Fox News has more exclusive news on the arrest:

The man, who was of Moroccan descent, was nabbed following a lengthy investigation by the FBI, initiated after he expressed interest in conducting an attack. It’s unclear how the FBI learned of his aspirations.

The man thought undercover FBI agents assisting him in his plot were associates of Al Qaeda.

When he was arrested Friday in Washington, he was carrying with him a vest supposedly packed with explosives, but the material inside was not actually dangerous, Fox News was told.

Watch Kelly explain the details of the terror plot below via Fox News:

He Smelt WEAKNESS in the White House.
Continuing Bush’s drone policies, while apologizing for America, and “leading from behind” does not a strong leader make!

Smelt? Is that like Smelt fishing?

Get used to it…  If Israel attacks Iran we are going to see a lot of this stuff happening here..  No one seems to pay much attention to Iran’s and Hezbollah’s presence in South and Central America countries…  Venezuela, Ecuador, and Nicaragua to name a few…  Anyone thinking that these people have not been funneling in through Mexico are either not informed or they are just fooling themselves…

Do some research on the tractor, bike and milk factories that Iran operates in Venezuela…  Really? nah their not manufacturing munitions…  they are busy making the best bikes, milk, and tractors that go boom in the world.

Don’t be too hard on him, he probably thought that the phrase “you smelt it you dealt it” was correct English.

Maybe Obama should rethink his view that the next attack will come from some domestic radical right winger and face reality.
Maybe now Rachel Maddow will run another Oklahoma bombing special.

  • Mo Fokker

The Iraqis sure are used to it Jack.

The US Capitol is where Congress meets.

Islam fundamentalists like Al Qeada are about as radical right winger as you can get.  Left/right ideology is not exclusive to America.  Not to mention, just because he is focused on one does not mean he is focused on other. You may now continue your guilt trip.

The capitol and white house is two different places.

Nothing to worry about hear, Obama has Big Sis on the case.

  • Anonymous

That’s why I like Ron Paul….  He seems to think that if we don’t f**k with other countries that they probably won’t see the need to f**k with us..  makes sense to me.

Of course it’s a bit late in the game.

Well, you’re just an idiot on a lawn mower, No Bits, but your comment raises a point which in its very wrongness raises a truly serious concern.

Even on the superficial treatment of this story here at Mediaite & on Fuppet News, it looks like this may be another case of borderline entrapment by policing authorities to gin up Homeland Security memes. Under the Bush administration, that was most often conveyed by those entirely useless color codes (yellow alert etc.). Under the Obama administration, policing authorities have done away with that, but they still need to feel we think what they do is useful & important, so they find people receptive to extremist ideas & egg them on, even assisting them critically to the point of doing just enough to justify being arrested, prosecuted & jailed for years to life.

This is the go-to website for discussion on all this:

Norbit The US Capitol is not the White House.

Bravo!  Now this is how it’s done Republicans – The Obama Administration once again, keeping us Safe.

  • http://www.proactivepolitics.blogspot.com/ Norbit Peters

Oh, then it was directly related to the President’s incendiary class warfare rhetoric.

What happened to the Photo-Op call for “civility” that the Hypocrite-In-Chief flim-flammed us about when he was scoring points against Republicans?

Does this guy even know what the truth is?
He’s a very small, deceitful, and pathetic little man, this guy in the White House.

  • Anonymous

Ummm ok? Explain to me how what your saying is related to the terrorist that was arrested for plotting to attack the US Capitol?

  • Anonymous

Only if Bush had Big Sis.

  • Anonymous

Try to get used to him he is gonna be around for another 4 years.

If the election were held today this is what it would look like.

Just like the “Life sentences” given yesterday to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab for the underwear bombing – False flag terror attacks instigated by our government to take away our liberties.

Here is a portion of the statement that Attorney Kurt Haskell, who was on the plane with Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, read into the Court record at the sentencing hearing yesterday in Detroit:

“I wish to thank the Court for allowing me these 5 minutes to make my statement. My references to the government in this statement refer to the Federal Government excluding this Court and the prosecution. On Christmas Day 2009, my wife and I were returning from an African safari and had a connecting flight through Amsterdam. As we waited for our flight, we sat on the floor next to the boarding gate. What I witnessed while sitting there and subsequent events have changed my life forever. While I sat there, I witnessed Umar dressed in jeans and a white t-shirt, being escorted around security by a man in a tan suit who spoke perfect American English and who aided Umar in boarding without a passport. The airline gate worker initially refused Umar boarding until the man in the tan suit intervened. The event meant nothing to me at the time. Little did I know that Umar would try to kill me a few hours later as our flight approached Detroit……”

Get ready for more false flags, and the media will participate fully, just like before!

So, if I understand what your are saying, the “perp” is not a perpetrator but a smelter?

  • Anonymous

Yeah this is the pretext for war with Iran or any other country they choose. They did this all during the Bush adminstration and it continues under Obama. When it comes to furthering the objectives of the MIC, there is bipartianship in Washington.

  • 12voltman1

    Sounds fishy to me.

I can’t say that I understand what the thinking is in the Israeli government these days, but there’s certainly something going on. No one – quite literally NO. ONE. – is saying that Iran is CURRENTLY capable of launching a nuke attack, or even right on the verge of being able to do so. As I understand, the ‘serious’ aspect of the Israeli concern is that right now Iran is stuck at the point of doing things above ground, where their nukes program (if they in fact have one) is most vulnerable, whereas it’ll be largely impervious once it gets to the stage of mostly being conducted under ground, because only nuclear-tipped bunker busters have any chance at all of disrupting sufficiently secure underground facilities (assuming they’re intelligently designed & properly constructed).

But the only way this could make sense is if Iran were purchasing warheads from other nations, such as Russia, or China (both of which have trade relations with Iran), or from Pakistan, which has lots & lots of warheads – but Pakistan is both officially & informally as paranoid about Iran as certainly Saudi Arabia is, & almost as much as Israel.

Meanwhile, the other narrative is that, believe it or not, in Iranian politics Ahmadinejad is a conservative moderate, as opposed to a radical, with the radicals being located among the imams supporting Kameini on the one hand & those who challenged Ahmadinejad in the last presidential election (the ones many in the west somehow assume to be ‘liberals’, despite the fact that their leaders have solid roots in the Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979 & for a bit over a decade thereafter when the previous senior imam, Khomeini, was alive. Ahmadinejad is obsessed with internal security & very much an authoritarian, but also a fuck-up when it comes to science & technology (ironic given his background as an engineer, but in fact he’s never really used that education professionally), so very much in the traditional sense of the type of dictator that historically U.S. governments have liked dealing with: focused inward not outward, fairly easy to predict, brutal to his own dissidents but ineffectual beyond the borders of Iran.

It seems to me that the Israeli government must be thinking not about how things are now in Iran, but how they might be under a cleverer more radical & effectual leader than Ahmadinejad, such that the current weakness of Iran equates to a level of vulnerability that won’t be present there in say 5 or 10 years down the line. Or at least that’s what we, & more importantly what Iran, is supposed to think; because I think it’s also possible that the Israeli consensus is really more about urging the U.S. government to ‘do something’, whether it be in a military or a diplomatic sense, to ‘normalize’ the Iranian threat. I actually think the latter is more along the lines of where Obama is currently headed – but an election year, especially with the opposing party going all hawk on the issue, is not exactly the easiest context in which to work towards that sort of goal.

We’ve heard these war drums before & nothing happened – at least not with respect to Iran. The reason people are alarmed is because they’re drawing parallels with having heard what they remember, wrongly I’m convinced, as similar war drums leading up to the invasion of Iraq. People should think a little harder about how it was back in 2001-3: from about June 2002, it became widely known that the Bush administration was about to push for invasion, & by September 2002 the Bush administration was almost entirely engaged in nothing other than rolling out that intention. Among other things, we learned through the summer & into the fall of 2002 about the Pentagon working on invasion plans. We’re not hearing any such thing now from the Pentagon in relation to Iran. Instead, we’re hearing Panetta saying that the Pentagon believes that Israel is working on an attack plan – which some are taking as him urging the U.S. to ‘get involved’, but which instead I take as a signal to Israel that the U.S. has zero intentions of helping Israel out on any such plan. So what we’re really seeing is public signalling & bluffing on a number of different levels.

Thank the FBI – not Obama

  • Anonymous

Which branch is the FBI a part of again?  It’s not the legislative branch….it’s not the judicial branch…

  • Anonymous

Um, apparently reading comprehension isn’t your strong point, but this attack was foiled BY the Obama administration.  Sounds like he’s facing reality just fine.

  • DoNotMindMe

Oh I forgot that Obama is in charge of the FBI

  • Anonymous

Well, I can’t tell you what it all means, but I suspect that we will soon again be at war in another nation, be it because of an Israeli attack, or because of an incident which occurs in the straits of Hormuz I can not say because it is all speculation for me.  But our freezing of Iranian assets and the European oil import embargo to me parallels the cessation of trade with Japan prior to WWII which lead to the attack on Pearl Harbor.  The president may be further along in his planning than you might suspect… lets not forget that drone that dropped out of the Iranian sky.. It would seem to me that violating Iran’s air space like that is a pretty serious deal, we may have been giving air surveillance to covert operations of the type that saw those scientist killed… pretty much past the mere talking phase.

All I know is that if there is war that we will be smack in the middle of it, and that it will not be fought only in the Eastern Hemisphere.  Iran will cause trouble in our streets as well as in our own backyard in Central and South America, I worry for Colombia as we as recently as two years ago saw both Venezuela and Ecuador amass their military on her borders as Chavez spoke of an impending invasion.  Since that time Iran has been expanding her munitions factories in Venezuela and now I have seen it reported in Ecuador as well.  We can not fight all the fronts that may open…

This is why I like Paul do not support in worldwide intervention, we have made these countries our enemies, they did not make us theirs.

Maybe you should watch his interview with Blitzer where he said he fears a domestic attack from somebody homegrown like what happened in Norway
     versus a 9/11 attacker.

This guy was created by the FBI just like all the lone wolves.

It makes a good news story and the FBI keeps their funding.

I guess you missed the part where Obama got Osama. Mission accomplished.
In contrast, John McCain and the GOP opposed the idea of going after him into Pakistan.

This is what we get for not enforcing our immigration laws…could be millions more illegals in our country just like him……
