In Tribute To “Ridiculous” Michele Bachmann, Conan O’Brien Turns His Back On America
Nope, this gag just hasn’t gotten old yet. Conan O’Brien took time out on Conan to explore the nuances of Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. Or, more accurately, to comment on how “ridiculous” it looked for Michele Bachmann to look into the wrong camera during her “Tea Party Response” to the State of the Union, and in the process drifted off camera himself–rather extensively.
While mocking Bachmann with sidekick Andy Richter, O’Brien gradually ends up with his back turned. In the process, he mock angrily rips into Bachmann, saying “we’re supposed to trust these people to figure out the deficit when they can’t even figure out where the camera is!”
As Richter puts it, it’s all “pretty unprofessional.” Indeed it is, indeed it is.
