MSNBC Is in Dire Need of a European Map Update
Czechoslovakia was a sovereign Central European state that existed from the end of World War I until its peaceful dissolution into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in January 1993. Twenty-plus years later, an MSNBC graphics producer seems to have missed that memo.
During a discussion of the ongoing Ukrainian crisis, MSNBC put up this map:
Notice it? The political borders on that map are entirely correct. The labeling of Slovakia as “Czechoslovakia,” however, well… that’s just really wrong.
