Stephen Colbert: Repealing ‘Dwarf Tossing’ Ban Would Be A Massive Job Creator

On Monday’s Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert came up with a solution for saving the billions of jobs that John McCain says we’re losing over regulation, legalizing “dwarf tossing.”

Colbert chronicled Florida State Representative’s Ritch Workman‘s advocacy against the ban, who said the bizarre entertainment practice was “offensive” and “ridiculous” but was “not the role of government to say it shouldn’t be done.”

“When jobs are at stake, that decision should be made by a more trusted group,” Colbert declared. “Bar owners who need a theme night to replace Wings and Boobs Wednesday.”

“Because ladies and gentlemen, Florida’s dwarf tossing ban is nothing but a job killer,” Colbert added. “As Workman told The Palm Beach Post, ‘all that it does is prevent some dwarves from getting jobs they would be happy to get in this economy.’ Yes! Dwarves would be happy to have these jobs. I’m sure the only reason Peter Dinklage is on Game of Thrones is because he couldn’t get a good job being chucked at a wall.”

Gash! You guys are embarrassing. Go ahead and repeal the ban on dwarf tossing, lets see how much good it does you. This coming from a state that has the lowest tax rate in the country, if this isn’t the perfect example of the failed ‘tax cut’ crap, I’d like to see what is.

Dwarf tossing… who was dumb enough to care about this in the first place? At this time with all we have going on someone took time to write legislation to ban or regulate this crap?

Watch the conservatives freak out over a comedy skit (again).

Repealing Colbert’s dorky, brain-dead show would be a massive improvement for Comedy Central.

And who was the moron who wrote the legislation in the first place? 13-15% real unemployment and someone is taking govt. time to write legislation about THIS??? Really?

  • Anonymous

You mean like the wasted Govt. time used to write laws that ban/restrict abortion, gay marriage, dadt etc.

Colbert’s show is not a law, come on think.

Lol, I referenced this a couple of weeks ago.  It’s Florida; we’re weird down here.

If tossing mental midgets were made legal, then the Republicans could be used for something worthwhile. Most of them are kinda hefty so a trebouchet would like be needed. And that physics/science thing they don’t much care for makes for likely grievous or deadly injury. Sounds better all the time.

Once dwarf tossing is repealed, than the Conservative Frank “Propaganda” Luntz can get his old job back!! Though, since Frank has gained a lot of weight, it may take 3 or 4 to toss him now!!

I thought you were for a free market system.  Supply and demand?  Obviously Colbert’s show is profitable to Com Cent…..or do you think there’s one of those evil Federal regulations that keep it on the air?

the placement of the law was stupid, the focus on repealing it is even stupider.

I’m a Tea Party member and joined the 99% movement because I was tired of the government and corporations causing this country to go down the drain. Both are responsible for the reason why we find ourselves in this terrible situation. I’m asking all my Tea Party brothers and sisters to join the movement.

I love the way Colbert lampoons topics like this. By highlighting
Dwarf Tossing he shines a light on all superfluous legislation. What’s next, a
law against planking? I missed this episode when it aired. Anytime I miss
Colbert I go to DISHOnline.com to catch the latest episodes. It is included
with subscription from DISH Network my TV provider/employer. I think its funny
how so many people still take his shtick seriously. I understand that he plays
a very convincing straight man but everything he says is a form of ironic
humor. Many of the people that are so against him have never seen a show. I
know a great site where they can get all caught up.
