This Exists: Marijuana “Superstore” Opens In California

Video

The “Wal-mart of Weed” weGrow is opening a new store in California and Geraldo Rivera is on the case. Interviewing the president of the new enterprise, Rivera learned that the superstore will sell all types of products related to growing and using marijuana at home, but will not actually sell pot.

If successful, the weGrow stores plan a nationwide expansion. Could this type of business be the next dot-com bubble Geraldo wonders? Doubtful, but even if weGrow’s profits aren’t high, their most frequent customers surely will be.

morally, ethically, socially, politically AND economically bankrupt california consists primarily of slugs, slackers, deadbeats, losers, liars, cheats, illegals and hollywood degenerates – all stoned on “medical” pot.

The only hope for the rest of America is that some way is found to remove california from our constitutional democracy. Let’s all pray for “The Big One”.

What do you call repeating the same mistakes over and over again but expecting a better result?
    –1 California, 2 Insanity.

    Exaggerate much?

The sales associates in the blue and orange box stores generally don’t know much about hydroponics and they don’t sell a lot of the products required. It looks like a terrific business opportunity to me and by getting out ahead, garnering the publicity and I assume trademarking the great name, the company should do well for themselves.

When reporters or anchors use “pot” or “dope” it doesn’t seem very professional to me.

“Interviewing the president of the new enterprise, Rivera learned that the superstore will sell all types of products related to growing and using marijuana at home, but will not actually sell pot.”

This story nor any other story that I have seen about this mentions “products related to using marijuana at home.”

    Neither does wegrowstore.com

Its a garden store, no bongs or pipes or vaporizers that I can see.

@Nacho: Geraldo is a friend to the legalization, normalization, decriminalization and medical marijuana movements. Among his regular guests are Cheech & Chong, I believe he’s attended or appeared at one or two of their rallies and he’s had other guests from the pro side of the question.

Then I would like to ask him why he throws “Pot” around instead of calling it marijuana.

“Pot, weed, and dope” are slang terms that when used in a news story about a debated medicine minimizes the credibility of it.

I was going to add that he also has Ann Coulter on quite often as a counter and her response is always that her friends have no trouble finding marijuana, so it doesn’t need to be legalized, but as I re-watched the clips to make certain they were still operational, you replied to my previous comment.

So toward that end, here’s a link to a post in my (still temporarily inactive) most recent blog, where I’ve embedded a video and linked another which illustrates the point about Ms. Coulter’s stock response and Mr. Rivera’s willingness to report these kinds of stories.

As to your question about the slang, I’d guess that it has something to do with Geraldo’s roots in daytime television and his familiarity with drug culture, but I’ve always considered Geraldo a friend to the movement and though I don’t really watch his show very often, I’ve seen nothing to dissuade me..

    That explains it.
