Excoriating the “random act of hate” she said led to the fatal shooting of two police officers and one bystander by a pair of shooters on Sunday, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman told CNN communities needed to be on the lookout for sick or angry individuals who spoke of hoarding guns.
“We’ve got these sick, sick cowardly people out there that just decide to express themselves all the time with bullets,” Goodman said. “We see it repeatedly across this country.”
“For all of us who are part of communities, we need to be alert and aware, and we need to make some contact if somebody is really strange and doing something and hoarding guns and we know it,” Goodman continued. “It is just a consistent anger by people, and it’s intolerable.”
Goodman told CNN that at this point the investigation had not widened to include anybody beyond the two suspects who took their own lives.
