Adam Carolla Dishes on Angry Text Chris Cuomo Sent Him for Bashing the ‘Stupid Sh*t’ Anchor Said During Covid Pandemic

Adam Carolla dished Chris Cuomo got upset at him for recently re-sharing a clip of the NewsNation anchor saying some “stupid sh*t” — as Carolla put it — during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Carolla said during the Sunday episode of his podcast that Cuomo angrily texted him about it, asking “What’s up, bro? Like, what are you doin’?”

“And I’m like, ‘I’m just retweeting what you said,'” Carolla said. “Like, listen everybody: you said a lot of stupid sh*t during Covid, and I got a lot of sh*t foisted on me, thanks to people like you saying a lot of stupid sh*t. And so did Aaron Rodgers.”

The veteran comic and podcaster appeared to be referring to a July 29 post on X, where Carolla shared a September 2020 clip from Cuomo’s old CNN show where he bashed President Donald Trump and “the Trumpers” for contradicting Dr. Anthony Fauci.

In particular, Cuomo was livid at Dr. Scott Atlas, who was an adviser to the White House’s Covid task force at the time.

Dr. Scott Atlas had told Fox News, “isolation is one of the unspoken tragedies of the elderly, who are now being told ‘Don’t see your family at Thanksgiving.’ For many people, this is their final Thanksgiving, believe it or not. What are we doing here?”

Cuomo lambasted the doc on his show afterwards.

“What the hell are you doing here?!” Cuomo raged. “Yeah, it could be their last Thanksgiving, if you expose ’em to people who aren’t wearing masks, who aren’t socially distancing, and haven’t been doing so and haven’t gotten tested. Because they somehow think they don’t want to get in on the ‘con’ of Covid.”

Carolla quipped on X last month, “This aged nicely.”

He shared Cuomo’s clip the same week Fauci was back in the news, after Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) published the doctor’s Covid diary. The diary revealed Fauci enjoyed a “relaxed” dinner at home with CNN star Jake Tapper in October 2020 — nine days after Fauci recommended Americans “sacrifice” Thanksgiving celebrations with their families.

Carolla was one of the few Hollywood celebrities who ripped Covid restrictions in 2020 and 2021. He said on his Sunday show people are now getting upset the pandemic is getting “relitigated,” but he said pundits like Cuomo just need to take it.

“Perhaps you should have shut the f*ck up back then,” Carolla said. “You can give your opinion, stop attacking people. You attacked people, and now people are rubbing it back in your face. Okay, that’s how the world works.”
