Don Lemon Insists Trump’s MAGA Movement Is ‘America’s Version’ of the Nazi Party — Just ‘Without the Holocaust and All That Stuff’

Ex-CNN star Don Lemon claimed President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement is the “closest thing to the modern version” of Nazi Germany. Lemon said the only difference is the Trump administration is not aiming to wipe out millions of people by orchestrating a genocide — an important factor which seemed to undermine his whole argument.

He made the MAGA-Nazi comparison during an interview on the Can’t Be Censored podcast on July 15.

“MAGA is the closest thing to the modern version of the Nazi Party. This is America’s version,” Lemon said. “It’s the closest thing, without the Holocaust and all that stuff.”

Lemon went on, saying MAGA voters are more concerned with White supremacy and blaming minorities for their problems than anything else.

He ranted:

Most intelligent people or logical people, when they get new information and that information is negative or not factual, they change their minds and go “Oh, I wish I’d known better, and now that I have this information, then I can readjust.”

No matter how many facts and how much information you give them about this presidency, about the policies, they don’t change their minds. Because they’re really not voting for the price of eggs — they’re voting for White supremacy, they’re voting for power, they’re voting to have a preeminent voice.

They’re afraid of — they’ve been co-opted by many people in the Republican Party and Donald Trump to think their failures are due to something else: the other, the Black person, the woman, the Latino, the immigrant, the migrant. That person is taking your job. That person is the reason that you don’t have the financial or career success that you think that you should have.

Those comments went fairly viral on X on Sunday.

Lemon’s take may sound extreme to millions of Americans, but he’s not the only high-profile liberal to compare MAGA to Nazi Germany in the recent past.

llinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) compared Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants to Adolf Hitler rounding up Jews and other minorities for death camps last year, and progressive podcaster Jennifer Welch branded MAGA a “Nazi-style cult” in May.
