Elon Musk Says Destiny ‘Should Go to Prison’ For Arguing Trump Election Led to Charlie Kirk Shooting
Elon Musk voiced his disgust with popular leftist streamer Destiny for saying conservatives need to “be afraid of getting killed when they go to events” and that the election of President Donald Trump in 2024 led to Charlie Kirk being murdered last week.
Musk, in response to a clip of Destiny on Piers Morgan’s show on Monday and another clip of him talking about Kirk’s murder, said Destiny should rot in prison for what he has said.
“I don’t think this jackass should be banned, but Amazon should stop paying him to incite murder. That’s insane,” Musk said in response to the clips, which right-wing commentator Mike Cernovich had posted, and asked why Destiny was allowed to continue streaming on Twitch. (He has actually been banned from Twitch since March 2022 for violating its “hateful conduct” policy.)
Musk continued: “Separately, incitement to murder and domestic terrorism is a felony crime. For that, he should go to prison. He can resume streaming when he has served his term.”
The Tesla CEO’s comments came after Destiny made several inflammatory remarks following the killing of Kirk last week.
“If you wanted Charlie Kirk to be alive, Donald Trump shouldn’t have been president for the second term,” Destiny told the Piers Morgan Uncensored panel on Monday.
Destiny, whose real name is Steven Bonnell, added that Democrats have been “condemning and turning down the temperature, [and] condemning violence” for the last decade — but that President Trump has not done the same thing. And in another recent clip from a different stream, Destiny said it is important for conservatives to be gunned down in order to “turn down” the political temperature.
“You need conservatives to be afraid of getting killed when they go to events, so that they look to their leadership to turn down the temperature,” Destiny said in one of the clips seen by Musk. “The issue is right now, they don’t feel like there’s any fear.”
That clip, and several others, have gone viral on X recently. You can view a few of those clips above, or you can watch Destiny’s full appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored at the top; his segment starts around the 43:00 minute mark.
