‘F*ck ICE and Free Palestine!’ Star of HBO’s ‘Hacks’ Goes Off in Emmys Speech

One of the stars of the HBO Max comedy Hacks went off, Sunday night, during her acceptance speech at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Hannah Einbinder — who picked up the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy — closed out her speech with a brief, profane comment on domestic and global politics.

“I just want to say, finally, go birds, f*ck ICE, and free Palestine!” Einbinder said

The CBS censors caught the four-letter word and did not let it go out over the air. But an uncensored version has been circulating on social media.

During a press conference moments later, Einbinder explained why she made the “free Palestine” comment.

“It’s an issue that’s really close to my heart for many reasons,” Einbinder said. “I feel like it is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the State of Israel, because our religion and our culture is such an important and long standing institution that is really separate to this sort of ethno-nationalist state.”

Einbinder was not the only Emmys attendee to deliver that message. Javier Bardem — who was nominated for his performance as Jose Menendez in Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story — sounded a similar note in remarks on the red carpet.

“We ask for the commercial and diplomatic blockade and the sanctions on Israel to stop this genocide,” Bardem said. “Free Palestine.”
