Who Critiques The Critic? Tonight, Celebrity Chefs Get To Roast GQ’s Alan Richman

Alan Richman has many, many trophies from his career as a food writer — some of them the stuffed and mounted heads of chefs he’s destroyed with his reviews. So naturally, on the 25th anniversary of his tenure at GQ, his editor Jim Nelson decided to let chefs have a turn at skewering him.

Chefs: the most dangerous game.

Tonight, the normally subdued Le Bernarndin will play host to Richman’s friends, including some people who have probably wanted to do this to him for a long, long time.  Scheduled to roast are chefs Daniel Boulud, Eric Ripert, David Chang, and Anthony Bourdain; New York Times writers Frank Bruni and Sam Sifton; and many, many more people that we’d love to name, but our SEO would explode from all the name-dropping.

The Braiser will be there and we’ll have a recap and video of the event tomorrow, if we’re not quietly abducted from the party and thrown into the marshes.
