We’ve Got The Scoop on David Schwimmer’s Favorite Restaurants
You already know and love David Schwimmer. What’s not to love? We loved him as Ross Geller in Friends, we loved him in an entirely different way in American Crime Story: The People v. OJ, and we’re very excited about his upcoming AMC series Feed The Beast. If you haven’t watched the extended trailer, get to it.
Schwimmer didn’t take preparation for his role as a sommelier lightly. He and Jim Sturgess, who plays a chef in the series “underwent real training in their character’s respective crafts in order to preserve the authenticity of the kitchen.” AMC also brought on Top Chef winner Harold Dieterle along with master sommelier Josh Nadel to consult.
We went to the Feed The Beast set the other night to talk with Schwimmer about the series and his real-life love of food. We were kind of blown away by how good his taste in restaurants is. Next time you’re looking to eat well, ask him what to do- he’ll know. He’s hit places even we haven’t been to yet, all while spending fifteen hours a day on set. If the whole tv and movie career thing doesn’t work out, maybe he could be a restaurant reviewer. Here are his picks right now for New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago:
New York City:
Pasquale Jones– “If you eat meat, get the pork shank for two. Also, go now because there’s a great spring pea and pecorino salad on the menu.”
Los Angeles
Jon & Vinny’s– “Make your November reservations now.”
Chicago
Duck Inn & Sunda– Full disclosure, the owner of these two spots is a friend of Schwimmer’s, but the food is awesome.
Feed The Beast premieres on AMC on Sunday, June 5th at 10:00pm EST.
