Marcus Samuelsson to Open Second Restaurant in Harlem
Another bird is joining the coop (OK, bird puns don’t work so well for us): Marcus Samuelsson will open his second eatery on Harlem’s Restaurant Row, called Streetbird Rotisserie.
The restaurant will be closest to the 116th Street subway stop on Frederick Douglas Avenue, reports the Harlem Bespoke blog. It’s supposedly a cheaper option to Red Rooster on Lenox Avenue, but there’s few other details about the restaurant. The New York Daily News reports that Samuelsson is still working on the design and the menu, but that it will open come spring. Color us super excited.
It was rumored last spring that Danny Meyer was debating on opening a Shake Shack in the same location, but it looks as though Samuelsson will remain king of Harlem dining for a long time to come.
