Former Biden Aide Deletes Account After C-SPAN Callers Blast Him for Endorsing Republican

Michael LaRosa, a former press secretary for former First Lady Jill Biden, deleted his X account on Monday after a rocky performance on C-SPAN.

LaRosa has become something of a darling in right-wing media of late, as he has slammed leftist Democrats who have recently scored victories in party primaries. He has appeared on Fox News many times in appearances that are not unlike those of Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who routinely bashes members of his own party.

On Sunday, LaRosa appeared on Washington Journal, a straightforward, no-frills C-SPAN call-in show. During that appearance, multiple callers confronted LaRosa for supporting a Republican, former Rep. Mike Rogers, for U.S. Senate in Michigan, instead of the Democratic nominee, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed.

“Yeah, I’m just amazed,” a caller who identified himself as Michael from Brooklyn said. “You might as well be a Republican. Do you want to win the Senate back in 2026? The only way you’re going to do it, you’re gonna need Michigan. And you’re dissing this guy El-Sayed. What’s wrong with you? Are you out of your mind? Yeah, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. It’s just beyond me that you’re– you’re coming on as a Democratic strategist? How can you, how dare you?”

On Monday night, Justin Baragona of Zeteo reported that LaRosa had deleted his X account. Baragona noted that last week, he reported that LaRosa works for a lobbying firm called Ballard Partners, which was founded by Brian Ballard, a major fundraiser for President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Ballard Partners has an office in Israel. El-Sayed has said Israel should stop receiving U.S. foreign aid.

Last year, amid Elon Musk’s purge of the United States Agency for International Development, LaRosa said the action was “probably” illegal, but Democrats should not make a big deal about it.

“We don’t have power,” he said in February 2025. “This is not the hill we wanna die on, right? The country does not really like foreign aid. I learned this from watching The West Wing in the ’90s.”
