BREAKING: GOP Congressman Hit With Restraining Order From Ex-Wife’s Lawyers

Lawyers for Sen. Bernie Moreno’s (R-OH) daughter have filed a restraining order against her ex-husband, Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) whom she has accused of domestic abuse.

Miller has vehemently denied the abuse allegations from Emily Moreno, who said in court papers Miller made physical contact with her attorney and “harassed [and] threatened” them.

The restraining order was filed Thursday, according to The New York Times‘ Annie Karni, who posted the legal papers on X.

“Unless restrained, [Miller] will continue to harass, threaten and communicate with my counsel directly,” Moreno said in court papers.

Miller’s own attorney, Larry Zuckerman, apparently admitted Tuesday in court that Miller “just can’t control himself,” Emily Moreno claimed in the filing.

Emily Moreno has accused Miller of throwing a pot of boiling water on her and other physical abuse over the past several years, including after their divorce in 2024.

She claimed “scalded her chest and stomach by throwing hot water from a skillet at her body; held a gun to her head; pushed her against a wall and hit her head; and fractured their daughter’s collarbone and bruised her shoulder,” according to a recent New York Times report.

Miller previously filed a defamation suit against his ex-wife concerning the accusations.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine spoke to local Columbus ABC affiliate reporter Morgan Trau on Wednesday and told her that “the accusations are certainly very serious and certainly troubling,” in his first public comments on the scandal.

DeWine called the situation “troubling” and said it was up to the voters “to weigh the facts.”

“They are the ultimate people who decide; They’re the ones who decide who they want to represent.”

Miller dragged Bernie Moreno into the ugly dispute in May, attacking the Ohio senator in an X post.

“It is unfortunate that @berniemoreno continues to fund and enable his daughter’s malicious campaign to ruin my life despite his knowledge of her mental health issues. Bernie, this must be distracting from your job. These antics harm your own grandchild. Anytime you want to put a stop to this, you can,” he wrote.
