Pro-Palestinian Activist Crashes Schumer Presser, Calls Him a ‘Genocidal Maniac’
Political activist Sam Husseini, who also serves as the Director for Communications in the Institute for Public Accuracy, crashed a press conference hosted by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) Thursday and blasted the latter as a “genocidal maniac” before being escorted out.
Schumer was speaking about corruption in the Trump administration when Husseini stood up and interrupted him and asked in part, “What could be more corrupt than genocide?” and accused Schumer and President Donald Trump of “playing off of each other.”
“You were put on notice!” he shouted, an apparent reference to a November 2023 filing by the Center for Constitutional Rights and other legal and human rights groups that was “about potential liability for aiding, abetting, inciting or conspiring to commit genocide through congressional actions and demands.”
Husseini added, “You were put on notice, and you backed it, you backed this genocide for years on end. How dare you talk about corruption?”
“Thank you for your diatribe,” Schumer answered before he attempted to continue. “The people didn’t come to hear you,” he said to Husseini before the activist was eventually taken out of the room as he called Schumer a “genocidal maniac.”
In June, the Center for Constitutional Rights noted of the 2023 lawsuit, “In November 2023, our organization brought a lawsuit against U.S. officials for aiding and abetting Israel’s genocide that was then already unfolding in Gaza. Today, more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed as genocide continues and apartheid is further entrenched against Palestinians.”
“War criminals should be held accountable by local, state, and federal law enforcement to the fullest extent possible, and they should be shunned — not publicly supported — by public officials,” the organization also wrote.
Schumer has also been attacked by President Trump over his stance on Israel. In 2025, Trump said of Schumer, “He’s become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore.” He made a similar claim in 2024, when he told Fox News host Sean Hannity that Schumer has “become like a Palestinian.”
