Dayton Shooting Suspect Identified
Ohio law enforcement officials have reportedly identified the perpetrator who killed 9 people and wounded 26 others at a shooting in Dayton early Sunday morning.
CBS reports that 24 year old Connor Betts was the shooter who was killed by police in the middle of his rampage in Dayton’s downtown area. Police say that Betts was wearing body armor and carried extra ammo as he carried out the assault.

The gunman in a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio has been identified as Connor Betts, 24, according to local and federal law enforcement sources.
FBI and local law enforcement authorities have served a search warrant at the shooter’s family home in Bellbrook, Ohio.

The shooting in Dayton came hours after a separate deadly incident in El Paso, Texas where another shooter killed 20 people and injured 26 other.
UPDATE: Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley and Deputy Chief of Police Matt Carper held a press conference where they confirmed Betts as the prime suspect behind the shooting. Carper also released the names of the victims: Lois Oglesby, Megan Betts, Saeeh Saleh, Derek Fudge, Logan Turner, Nicholas Cummer, Thomas McNichols, Beatrice Curtis, and Monica Brickhouse.
Carper and Whaley took questions from the media after their initial statements, during which, Carper confirmed that Megan Betts was Connor’s sister. Carper further said that all the victims were found in the same place, and he pushed back on reports saying Mrs. Betts was gunned down in her car along with her boyfriend.
Another press conference was also announced for 4:00 p.m. ET, where further information about the shooting will supposedly be provided to the media.
