Elon Musk Claims, Hours Ahead of Fox News Interview, Harris ‘Avoiding’ Outlets That ‘Won’t Post Edit Her’

Billionaire Elon Musk said Vice President Kamala Harris avoids interviews that don’t edit her responses favorably. He made that statement just hours before her Fox News interview with Bret Baier.

For months, one of the primary attacks from the right was the fact that Harris has done significantly fewer interviews than former President Donald Trump. In recent weeks, however, the vice president has ramped up her media schedule with appearances on podcasts, late night shows, and daytime shows. Harris also appeared on 60 Minutes for a special election episode — the same episode Trump backed out of — where CBS’s Bill Whitaker pressed her on a number of issues.

When it was revealed that CBS edited one of her responses for time, Republicans used that to fuel claims that Harris doesn’t sign off on interviews without ensuring they’re carefully edited in her favor. Trump even called for CBS’s broadcast license to be revoked.

On Wednesday, Musk responded to a tweet linking to an Oct. 10 article from Time. In the article, it was revealed that Harris “declined repeated requests for an interview.” Time added that Trump spoke to a reporter for 90 minutes.

“Kamala is avoiding any interviews that won’t post edit her answers to sound like they make sense,” Musk said in his tweet.

Since it was announced that Harris would do an interview with Fox, many online were quick to assume that it would be heavily edited and that Baier wouldn’t challenge her. Baier has taken to social media to dispel those rumors.

It’s also worth noting that, as Media Matters’s Matthew Gertz pointed out, Trump recently did an interview with Fox’s Maria Bartiromo that was also edited.
