Elon Musk mocked the Department of Justice’s new memo that concluded convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was not murdered and that there was “no credible evidence” that he maintained a “client list” to blackmail “prominent individuals.”
The two-page memo, obtained by Axios on Monday, laid out the administration’s final position that Epstein died by suicide at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking, releasing video to back their claim. The memo also found that there was “no incriminating ‘client list’” in relation to widespread claims that Epstein had amassed a cache of blackmail evidence against elites.
Investigators argue that, on the basis of their evidence, there are no legal grounds to pursue uncharged individuals. It insists no further disclosures are “appropriate or warranted.”
Taking to X on Monday, Musk slammed the findings, sarcastically noting, “It’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again”:
Another post, a reply to a user, ominously warned: “This is the final straw.”
In a further post, replying to a user who argued that if there were evidence of Epstein’s clients, it would be “plastered everywhere,” Musk doubled down to suggest that this would be true unless “both sides” were involved in a cover-up of some kind:
Just an hour earlier, Musk replied with a chin-scratching emoji to MAGA commentator Jack Posobiec, who asked why Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, remained in prison for her role in his sex trafficking ring:
Musk’s skepticism comes just weeks after he accused former ally President Donald Trump of being “in the Epstein files” during an online spat – before deleting the claim and admitting he “went too far.”
The billionaire MAGA megadonor announced Saturday that he is launching a third political party, following the dramatic rift with Trump, signaling he intends to follow through on earlier threats if the president’s domestic policy bill becomes law.
