Fox News closed out May as the most-watched news outlet on YouTube by a staggering margin after the network notched 362 million views on the platform, outpacing rivals ABC News and NBC News more than threefold.

According to the latest figures from analytics firm Emplifi, MSNBC, a YouTube juggernaut, finished the month with 298 million views, lagging Fox News by more than 65 million. CNN followed with 195 million while ABC and NBC trailed with 113 million and 110 million views, respectively, while CBS News failed to crack 55 million. The New York Times brought in just 13 million.

“FOX News closed May 2025 as the top news brand in the competitive set on YouTube,” Emplifi reported, adding that the network had “more than quintupled CBS News’ 54 million views for the month.”

Fox’s digital strategy is increasingly defined by its aggressive push into short-form video – a format that continues to reshape how news is consumed. The newly launched FOX News Clips channel, which pulled in nearly 30 million views in May alone, signals a calculated move to dominate the algorithm-driven world of mobile-first media.

As TikTok and YouTube Shorts drive engagement among younger, politically fluid audiences, it’s becoming a core strategy for networks to repurpose cable content into bite-sized, emotionally charged segments and Fox News is clearly not waiting around.
