A House Ethics Committee report released on Thursday morning revealed that George Santos spent campaign funds a variety of non-campaign related items, including Botox, trips to Atlantic City, and subscriptions on the pornographic website OnlyFans.
The bipartisan report agreed to unanimously by the committee discovered that Santos spent over $2,000 on the Atlantic City trips, $3,000 during a weekend trip to the Hamptons, and $1,500 on Botox.
It also found that money sent to an entity called RedStone Strategies was then transferred directly into Santos’s personal accounts where they “were used to, among other things: pay down personal credit card bills and other debt; make a $4,127.80 purchase at Hermes; and for smaller purchases at Only Fans; Sephora; and for meals and for parking.”
The committee determined that “At nearly every opportunity,” Santos “placed his desire for private gain above his duty to uphold the Constitution, federal law, and ethical principles” and that despite the fact that Santos “has been the subject of significant public reporting about his many
alleged fabrications, including allegations that he has lied about his degrees, his religion, his work
experience, his family, and numerous other aspects of his biography,” his “lies go far beyond inaccuracies on a resume.”
While Santos lived large on campaign funds despite having an “abysmal credit score” and debt, “at least one staffer told the committee he went eight months without pay,” after being told the campaign had “no money.”
Earlier this year, Fox News’ Kennedy asked Santos if he had an OnlyFans account only to be assured by Santos that he had “just discovered what OnlyFans was about three weeks ago when it was brought up in a discussion in my office.”
The committee found “substantial evidence” that Santos committed crimes and called Santos’s promise to cooperate with its investigation “just another falsehood.”
A 13-count indictment against Santos for money laundering and theft of public funds among other charges was unveiled by the Department of Justice in May. An additional 10 counts were tacked on in October.
