James Comer Issues Subpoena for Full Epstein Files to DOJ, Demands Depositions From Clintons

House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) issued a subpoena on Tuesday to the Department of Justice demanding the release of the full Epstein files.

Comer is demanding that more documents related to Jeffrey Epstein to be turned over to his committee, and he’s also demanding former officials be deposed over the late billionaire.

The following individuals are compelled to “appear for depositions through issued subpoenas”: former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, former Attorneys General Merrick Garland, Bill Barr, Alberto Gonzales, Jeff Sessions, Eric Holder, and Loretta Lynch, and former FBI Directors James Comey and Robert Mueller.

The Clintons are being asked to testify in October. Bill Clinton was a longtime friend of Epstein, a convicted child sex predator who died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges.

Comer previously issued a subpoena for Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of Epstein who is now serving 20 years for sex trafficking. Maxwell demanded immunity, among other things, for her testimony. She also met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche recently and was moved to a minimum security Texas prison.

Maxwell’s lawyer claimed she gave information on numerous individuals in her Blanche meetings, and President Donald Trump has not closed the door on a pardon, though he’s made clear he’s given no serious thought to it. The president has pushed back on theories of a client list existing of high profile abusers associated with Epstein, calling it a “hoax.” Trump has lashed out at some of his own supporters as he’s faced backlash over a Department of Justice/FBI memo concluding Epstein committed suicide and there was no major client list to release to the public.
