JD Vance’s Southampton Fundraiser With Tucker Carlson Funder Sparks Fury on the Right

Vice President JD Vance hosted a fundraiser in Southampton, NY, on Wednesday night, which hauled in a whopping $5 million from some 35 people, reported Axios.

The email announcing the fundraiser went viral this week and raised eyebrows across the political spectrum as it offered a $250,000 donation for “host committee and dinner” per couple and a $100,000 donation per couple to attend the reception.

Omeed Malik and Chris Buskirk, two of the co-founders of 1789 Capital, an “anti-woke” venture capital firm that backs Tucker Carlson’s new media business, also were listed as hosts of the event. Donald Trump Jr.’s name also appeared as a host of the event, which raised money for the Republican National Committee, of which Vance is the finance chair.

In recent months, Carlson has used his online show to savagely attack President Donald Trump and the war in Iran. Trump, for his part, has hit back at Carlson and called him “low IQ.”

Many of Carlson’s critics were quick to slam the fundraiser, including Fox News host Mark Levin.

“Affordability discussed?” Levin said on social media, sharing the flyer. Levin also slammed Carlson earlier in the day over the Daily Caller’s negative coverage of Israel, writing, “It’s a joke. Qatarlson’s Islamist propaganda operation. Foster Freiss, an Evangelical Christian and major Israel supporter, and a friend of mine, would be disgusted. He put millions into Daily Caller when it was just starting. What a betrayal.”

MAGA influencer and close Trump ally Laura Loomer also took aim at the event, writing, “Omeed Malik, a half Pakistani and half Iranian Muslim, gave Tucker Qatarlson $15 million dollars to launch the Tucker Carlson Network, which has become a platform to spread Holocaust denial, rabid Jew hate, and the promotion of Sharia Law and Islam.” She added:

Omeed Malik was in Doha, Qatar last November at the Doha Forum front row when Tucker was giving his speech about how much he loves Islam and Qatar.

I guess we shouldn’t expect the GOP to crack down on the Islamic takeover of America anytime soon.
