Iranian Missiles Strike Central Tel Aviv, Injuries Reported

Sirens sounded across Israel on Friday as Iran launched a strike on the country in response to a wide-ranging attack from Israel on its nuclear and missile sites the day before. Reports quickly came in of the sounds of explosions in central Tel Aviv.

Soon, after videos of missiles raining down on Tel Aviv quickly spread across social media, showing multiple confirmed impacts in the densely populated city. Initial reports say that some 200 ballistic missiles were fired on Israel from Iran, injuring 44 people across the country — two critically.

Fox News’s Trey Yingst reported live on air as the sirens sounded, “A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles from Iran toward the state of Israel. The public is asked to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command. At this time, the Israeli air force is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.”

“It’s essential to continue following the instructions of the Home Front Command. And so, again, the Israelis are operating in real time not only to strike the missile launching positions inside of Iran, but also to shoot down any of that fire. And they will use the defense systems on the ground, but also fighter jets if there are any sort of drones that are flying toward Israel to try to distract the air defense systems. But it gives you a sense. Okay, and I’m going to have my cameraman go back to the skyline here, and you’ll see more interceptor rounds coming off over Tel Aviv. The Iranians are targeting major population centers in Israel, again, in response to the operation overnight that took out a number of IRGC officials and we can see flashes in the skies over Tel Aviv,” he added.

Yingst later reported on what appeared to be a missile getting through the defense systems and making a direct impact in central Tel Aviv, near the military’s central command.

Yingst and his crew later ran for cover just a missile hit Tel Aviv in their shot.

Yingst reported ahead of the attack from Iran, “Israeli civilians told to stay next to bomb shelters. Emergency alert sent to phones by Home Front Command.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
